An open, dynamic environment connected with Collserola Natural Park
The buildings and public spaces have been designed as a cohesive unit, maintaining architectural consistency, and featuring a biophilic perspective that establishes a connection with the natural environment, facilitates a healthy lifestyle, and fosters interaction among the community of users, neighbors, and visitors.
Walkable plazas and gardens connected to Collserola
A succession of plazas and gardens creates a green axis descending from Collserola Park, bringing life to spaces surrounded by vegetation, integrating local materials, and offering small corners to work, rest, study, and enjoy leisure harmoniously.
The architectural proposal integrates all elements to blend residential and work life, creating a unique user experience.
Sustainable water management
Dedicated areas (biotopes) facilitate natural rainwater management while creating biodiversity-rich environments.
These spaces contribute to the project's environmental sustainability and provide enriched habitats for local flora and fauna.
Additionally, water creates a serene and refreshing atmosphere, enhancing the space by providing a tranquil and attractive visual centerpiece.
A diverse and active community
Porta Diagonal is conceived as a multifunctional space aimed at enriching the social and economic fabric of the community through the integration and collaboration of its diverse users, including workers, researchers, students, residents, and visitors like tourists and young professionals.
Every element of the project is designed to promote interaction and collaboration, creating a dynamic environment that fosters innovation and growth.
The versatility of common spaces, along with events and modern facilities, will facilitate knowledge exchange and synergy creation, contributing to an active and diverse community with all the necessary services to ensure an enriching and comfortable experience for all members.
A journey filled with spaces
The public space of Porta Diagonal is organized into several key areas:
-
The Gateway: the main entrance welcoming visitors from Barcelona and Esplugues.
-
The Path: a zigzagging route that accessibly connects all project spaces.
-
The Lookout: located between the two towers, offering panoramic views and a tranquil space to relax.
-
The Square: the central area of the park, designed as a cool and equipped social meeting point.
-
The Amphitheatre: located inside the square, it is a space for events and serves as a link with the Collserola Natural Park.
-
El Pinar: located on the slopes of Collserola, this space blends in perfectly with the park's natural surroundings.
-
The Meadow: a plantation designed to provide shade and host recreational and social activities.
A square with a
Cool Island Effect
Public spaces must ensure the health and comfort of users. To counteract the phenomenon of the heat island effect, which occurs when urban surfaces absorb and retain heat, we adopt strategies to reduce heat absorption and increase evaporation, thus creating a cooler and more comfortable microclimate in the urban environment.
